Despite the fact that The Secret Circle been off air for a decade now (give or take), The Secret Circle Wiki still remains a hotspot for fans and for information about the show, characters, and mythology/powers.

This wiki is still pretty popular for those watching or discovering the show recently. We also want to preserve the wiki for the possibility of a return for the show in the future — although we haven't heard anything about a revival, it's possible that one could happen in the future.

It is because of this that we have decided to move The Secret Circle Wiki to another platform — that new platform is Telepedia. We've made this decision to ensure that we have more creative control over the wiki and the content, and to ensure that we can monitor the wiki easier. Fandom isn't very well-oriented for communities changing things about their wiki than the default things they allow and that isn't really fair or practical.

A large portion (60%) of our traffic comes from mobile, and the default FandomMobile skin doesn't suit our needs and the inability to customise it to match the theme of the other templates and the wiki, isn't optimal for us. This is one the main reasons we've decided to fork.

What are the positives of forking?

• We retain full creative control of the skin and the way the wiki looks. This includes using the Vector skin, which is a favourite of many people, but also gives us the opportunity to use other skins in the future as they roll-out etc.

• The ability to customise the mobile experience how we like it. We'll be using the MobileFrontEnd extension from MediaWiki which provides a more immersive editing experience than the Fandom skin does. We've also themed it to look exactly like the wiki — if you've got any feedback on this, don't hesitate to reach out.

• We control the user permissions and the users that we allow on the wiki etc; we retain the right to allow whoever and block whoever from editing the wiki and aren't bound by Fandom ToU and their blocking policies.

What are the negatives?

• The Secret Circle Wiki has been on Fandom for a long time, and therefore has built up a SEO lead on this topic. We're obviously only just starting out on the forked wiki so therefore it will take a bit of time to get above Fandom in rankings, but constant updates at the new wiki will mean that eventually we get ahead.

• There are a lot of images on this wiki and videos. Some were incompatible with the move so they've had to be removed.

• We're still in the process of uploading some images on the wiki so at the moment they might be missing. Don't fret, we're working on it, and the most important pages have their images.

We're still working on it, but we're sure it will be a better experience for fans of The Secret Circle.

What Happens With this Wiki?

Fandom ToU doesn't allow us to close this wiki or anything like that. What we can do is stop editing and viewing the wiki in favour of the new one, and hopefully the new wiki will start outranking this one eventually.
